In a tale neither fit for man nor animal, Homer Simpson becomes televison’s newest reality star as his bottomless appetite and cast iron stomach are put to the test and pushed to the limits week after week on “Man Vs. Best Vs. Food.” Eventually, something’s gotta give, and we’re talking more than a couple belt notches.

The third Simpsons showcase offers a snout full of savory stories. First, Homer opts into Mr. Burns’ “golden parachute” program and soon finds himself and his family living a life that’s less than luxurious on Mr. Burns’ tropical island retirement community, which is made entirely of trash. Then, Bart pits himself against Marge in a battle of wills…specifically, will Bart take a bath or not? Finally, Bartman is up to his elbows in ectoplasm when he gets a helping hand from the hapless ghost of good ol’ salesman Gil. It’s gooey goodness and ghastly gladness that will make you gag galore!

This month, it’s a trio of life and death adventures! Bart discovers that the entire town has taken a sudden and life-threatening dislike to him and later risks life and limb when taking a short cut to go to the movies. Finally, it’s Lisa who fears for her life when she gets trapped in a corn maze of her own design. Plus, Sergio Aragones presents another pleasing pantomime from “Maggie’s Crib.

After a school prank gone bad, Bart is afraid to face the consequences or his parents, so he and Milhouse stowaway on Captain McCallister’s boat and set sail for exotic ports. However, an adventure on the high seas is not everything it is cracked up to be. Oh…did we mention the mutiny?

Radioactive Man welcomes guest artist Frank Brunner (Doctor Strange) for a twisted and tyrannical trans-dimensional tale! When Radioactive Man’s fellow Superior Squad member Plasmo the Mystic goes missing, the Irradiated Crusader must travel across time and space to rescue the supernatural spellcaster. Then, a new, all-girl, superhero team, The Nerds of Prey (Jessica Lovejoy, Sherri and Terri, and Greta Wolfcastle), spring into action under the watchful eye and technological savvy of a secretive Lisa Simpson with one goal in mind–– rescuing Bartman from the clutches of the Cat Lady Woman. Enhanced with a spectacular cover by Hilary Barta.
