Mr. Burns takes the Simpsons along on his annual summer vacation treasure hunt, but his South Seas adventure soon becomes a matter of life and death for everyone concerned. “Uncle Burn$” lust for gold leads them all to the island of Donrosa and the Gottfredson trench where the Simpsons begin to realize that there is something Huey, Dewey, and Screwy about this whole undertaking, and that they might be “Barks”ing up the wrong tree! Then Maggie and Moe take a trip to Wall E. Weasel’s, stumble into a plot of international intrigue, and come face to face with another crime-solving babysitting duo––Gerald, the one-eyebrowed baby, and Titania! Finally, Ralph gets mistaken for a prized pig at the Springfield county fair.

After a run-in with the paparazzi, Krusty the Clown hires Homer to stand in for him, or rather, stand next to him…because Homer makes Krusty look good by comparison. Meanwhile, Lisa becomes a stand-in studio musician for Bleeding Gums Murphy’s sister, Flossy Murphy. But Homer and Lisa soon discover that the life of a second-hand, stopgap, stand-in celebrity isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
