After Flanders sends his boys to summer camp, the Simpsons decide to cheer up the depressed and despondent dad by letting him stay with them. Ned proves that he is never at a loss for a word of encouragement or a word to the wise, but while his sunny disposition and optimistic worldview do wonders for some of the members of the Simpson family, others (OK...we mean Homer) find his clever clichés more than a little passé.
